How different is the spotted skunk, as a pet, than a striped skunk? I have a chance of getting one but don't know much about the spotted skunk.

The spotted skunk is very different than the striped skunk. Learn about the Striped skunk

Unlike the striped skunk, they are agile climbers, they get into far more trouble than a striped skunk if that is possible to believe. The spotted skunk is very mischievous. They are also quite friendly if raised from a baby. They are smaller than the striped skunk. One unusal trait is that they do a handstand, flip their tail to spray. Cute. I'll tell you what, I will get an article out in the next few weeks. Email me directly for direct questions.

I would have to change a lot of things in the house if the little mischief makers climb. I am surprised at the big differences between the two varieties of skunks. I will have to think this one over. I can't wait for the spotted skunk article. Thank you

You are more than welcome. Yes they are very different. I know you, and are confident you will get all the information before making such an important decision. I wish all potential animals owners were that responsible.

I think I am inclined to get the skunk. We are working on the house now. They do have comparable diets to the striped skunk? We did start using insects in their diet. They are expensive. Where do I find the article you wrote on raising your own insects to feed different pets?
