I used to get panic attacks all the time in my 40's, I don't get them any more! And I only just realised this reading your post.
I am menopausal but still have 'time of the month' moments where I feel anxious but not panicky any more.
Try Valerian or something containing it, like Kalms, not sure what you have in the USA. It is the herb they replicate to make valium. It has a very calming effect on the body. Stinks to high heaven and tastes bloody awful, but it does work if you buy it in a coated tablet.
Chamomile tea or lavender tea. Cut out the coffee!!
And a little bit more guitar playing and singing when you feel the anxiety attacks coming on, take your mind off it, do something you know doesn't take any effort, like your singing!
