For years I waited until Thanksgiving weekend to start my holiday decorating. It made sense since it was a 4 day break and we usually only traveled on one of those days. That left me 3 to transform the house. However, by New Years, I was taking it all down again. That seemed like a lot of work for so little time to appreciate it.
Last year I began decorating the house the last weekend in October. This allowed 2 months to enjoy all the handiwork. It also made the house feel so much more festive all season long, without the rush to get the decorating done on top of all the other holiday plans.
I am thinking of decorating early again this year. What about you? When do you start your holiday decorating?
