Hi Sherryl !

I chose not to have children because I want to know why I'm here.

It is painful to be alive.

Please help me to know and understand and to integrate.

Sincerely,

Burt Anthony Bialozynski smile

Thanks so much Phyllis. We are still working out the kinks. I'm glad you enjoyed the article. I'm excited to be part of the wonderful family here at BellaOnline and to be of assistance to anyone who should need me.

Have an awesome day.

Burt,

I agree that sometimes life is painful. It doesn't pull any punches when it knocks us down or throws obstacles in our path. Finding a space to have quiet time and listening to our inner voice is important. We all need it at some time in our life. We have some amazing people here at BellaOnline and I think you will find many who have similar feelings as you who have found strength in numbers. They support each other, listen to each other and share their own experiences as a way of showing that we are not alone. I look forward to talking with you more. Have a blessed day.

Hi Phyllis,

You are a Star in My Heart queen

I have no other way to put it.

Thank You for the positive spin.. my soul is so thirsty it feels like cool mountain water from an artesian spring !!

Phyllis: Why is it that people who had to work hard and bust their behind from a very young age are so much more balanced, steadfast and rich in the heart then the wave of spoiled college kids of which I got lost in ?

Let me put it another way:

My Mom, Dad and Live-In Uncle came from peasant class worked blue-collar and I couldn't make it as a blue-collar or a white-collar so I took over their 8-room motel because it was more stable than anything I could see out there. Purchase in OCT 1980 and still solvent to this day only by The Grace of God - He did it, not me and he get The Glory !

I just feel like such a lost pup !

I need the friendship of mature and courageous women to keep my heart aligned with God's Bigger Plan which is so mysterious that most of my fear comes from the idea that I let God down and continue to do so by following my way not his way...

It hurts.

I love being a 'star in your heart', Burt. What a nice thing to say.

Why does it hurt to have done it your way? Did God not put you here to find your way? Remember that poem of the footprints in the sand?

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?

The Lord replied,
The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.

Of course it hurts, but only until we understand that there are certain things we must learn in life in order to grow. You never let God down, you may have let yourself down by trying to live up to expectations you had that may have been too high for you to reach at the time. Disappointments are a major part of our lives. Without disappointing moments and feelings of failure, how are we to recognize the successes we did accomplish? It is the same as good and bad, beautiful and ugly -- one cannot recognize something if they cannot see its opposite.

You may be a lost pup, Burt -- but, you ARE finding your way home.

My thoughts on your question of "Why is it that people who had to work hard and bust their behind from a very young age are so much more balanced, steadfast and rich in the heart ..."

When one works hard, they begin to see results - results that have an effect on their way of life. They learn to appreciate the simple things because they "busted their hiney" to obtain that which they needed. It is the simple things in life that give us the appreciation of life and a feeling of balance and harmony. This brings a unique wealth to those who are steadfast and work hard and that precious wealth is richness in the heart. How many people have you seen who have everything in life they need material wise and do not have to work hard for it are rich in heart?

Love of self, love of all Creation, having loved ones, knowing you work hard -- these are the riches that most people look for and some can never find, because they are too busy trying to gain a material wealth.

Thank You.

I am listening to it now, Burt. Meanwhile, please read the following by Kahlil Gibran, one of the greatest philosophers of life I have ever read. I adopted him as one of my teachers in life, even though he walked on long before I started reading his books. Here is his thoughts on work:

On Work
Kahlil Gibran
You work that you may keep pace with the earth and the soul of the earth.
For to be idle is to become a stranger unto the seasons,
and to step out of life's procession, that marches in majesty and proud submission towards the infinite.

When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music.
Which of you would be a reed, dumb and silent, when all else sings together in unison?

Always you have been told that work is a curse and labour a misfortune.
But I say to you that when you work you fulfil a part of earth's furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born,
And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life,
And to love life through labour is to be intimate with life's inmost secret.

But if you in your pain call birth an affliction and the support of the flesh a curse written upon your brow, then I answer that naught but the sweat of your brow shall wash away that which is written.

You have been told also that life is darkness, and in your weariness you echo what was said by the weary.
And I say that life is indeed darkness save when there is urge,
And all urge is blind save when there is knowledge,
And all knowledge is vain save when there is work,
And all work is empty save when there is love;
And when you work with love you bind yourself to yourself, and to one another, and to God.

And what is it to work with love?
It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart,
even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth.
It is to build a house with affection,
even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house.
It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy,
even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit.
It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit,
And to know that all the blessed dead
are standing about you and watching.

Often have I heard you say, as if speaking in sleep, "He who works in marble, and finds the shape of his own soul in the stone, is nobler than he who ploughs the soil.
And he who seizes the rainbow to lay it on a cloth in the likeness of man, is more than he who makes the sandals for our feet."
But I say, not in sleep but in the overwakefulness of noontide, that the wind speaks not more sweetly to the giant oaks than to the least of all the blades of grass;
And he alone is great who turns the voice of the wind into a song made sweeter by his own loving.

Work is love made visible.
And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.
For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger.
And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distils a poison in the wine.
And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night.
