Looks like this group has come to a end. I am sorry to see this, since, many want and need information that we all can share. But either no one reads, or wants to post anymore.

I wish that more would put input into this group, and make it what it was in past.

Hi Mike, I grew up in the thriving Polish Culture of Detroit in the early 1960's Most of that is decimated now as everyone has disbanded and went their separate ways -- I'm living in a cultural oasis in Florida and stay to myself. -- Burt B.

What part of Detroit? My grandmother M/N Grabowski, had family there.

Hamtramck

This area, Hamtramck, was the area where back than, most of the Polish lived. Grandmother had family living in this area, also. Ostrowski, and Bulza, and others than I can't remember the names.
It has been some time, since I was there, and don't remember any address. Do any of these names ring a bell with you?

Ostrowski sounds real familiar... However, we left the area in 1968 and moved to Lansing, MI

It was a wonderful upbring.. but even in 1966 I remember the Heroin and the welfare housing and the riots.

Crazy.
