I started intermittent fasting Sept. 1 2010 and have been doing it on and off for a year. I started doing it as a way to avoid weight gain while rehabbing a hip injury and really loved the way it made me feel. It also resulted in 5 pounds of weight loss. I didn't need to lose those 5 pounds but losing them actually helped me perform better in aerial dance class.
I went off it all summer while my son was home from school. It was impossible for me to do it with him around. Now that he's back in school I started up again. I've been keeping
intermittent fasting journal here in the forums since last year in both weight loss and exercise forums. I update them every time I do an intermittent fast. The only thing I have are a few cups of black coffee and water.
BTW, I really loved what you wrote in your article that "Fasting comes down to self control, a mastery over self and one�s desires." This is so true and it spills over into other areas of your life too.
