Hi everyone. We found out we had lost our baby when I was 10 weeks and 4 days this past Friday. The miscarriage didn't happen naturally so I had to have a D and C Tuesday when I found out the baby had died when I was only 7 weeks and 1 day. I was wondering if anyone can answer a couple of questions I have regarding life after a D and C such as, how long did you bleed? I only bled the first day then had a brown discharge yesterday and now nothing. The second question would be, as horrible as it sounds, I could really use a drink after all this. When can I have one? My next question would be, how is it possible to feel comfortable in another pregnancy after miscarrying? This was our first child and it has been the hardest thing we have ever had to deal with. I can't imagine being pregnant again and worrying every day that I will miscarry again.

Question one: As far as I understood what the Dr. told me, your bleeding stopping quickly is normal and good. Question 2: I think as long as you arent on any medications, it is ok to have a drink... Question 3: It totally varies for everyone. Some women and couples are scared from the moment they find they are pregnant until the moment they deilver even if they have never had a miscarriage, and others miscarry and become pregnant again and are able to adjust into the pregnancy without too much fear. If you feel that getting pregnant again will mess with you emotionally and you need time to heal from this loss, take the time. If you feel ready to jump in again, go for it. You may feel stressed about pregnancy loss, but you will feel stressed about your children every day of their life long after you deilver ;) Im sorry for your loss and understand the grief.
