Cannot wait! I am also moving into a new apartment and all the availability of Samhain/Halloween items are making me think about decorating my new place.....and I am talking year-round. Is it a little odd to be thinking Addams Family or The Munsters? By the way, I am a freelance writer and I do write about ghosts and hauntings. On the other hand - look at Stephen Kings house in Maine.

Good grief we haven't even had Mabon yet!!

Just had a look at the photos available of SK's house- lovely ironwork. Classy stuff like that never goes out of style and, done right, becomes a feature that enhances the neighbourhood rather than just something 'spooky'.

On the Halloween front; something I suggest to my US friends escorting kids around 'trick or treating' is to dress in smart business attire, carry a clipboard, and wear a big ID-type badge that says "IRS". Most of the time you only have to smile psychotically at the adult who comes to the door to give them a reasonable scare. But if you want you can utter hair raising 'words of power' such as:

"we don't seem to have your return Sir/Madam"
"Snap Audit!"
"I'm from the government and I'm here to help you"
Or the ultimate one:
"You know why I'm here"

Mind you, you might like to brush up on your CPR too!

Mine too! Haven't had a chance to experience it in the US yet, but it's taking off in the UK a bit. Still some time to go before we reach the levels I saw it building to in LA when we were there last year.

I'm pretty excited too!!! Though I'm trying to rein in my excitement for Mabon, and not get too far ahead of myself. This time of year goes by too quickly as it is!

We had a LOVELY rain here yesterday - so it really felt like autumn. Though today it will be hot, and we'll be heading off to the beach.
