Yes, I have been backpacking. But it was a very long time ago! I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I definitely think it's an activity better suited to those younger and more agile than I have become. I admire your desire to try it now. And you couldnt' go wrong with Isle Royale as a great site to try it out.... :-)
