Hello, I'm getting back into making silver jewelry after a lapse of many, many years and I have a question about soldering. I know in traditional silversmithing, one creates a bezel using a flat backing piece of silver and a stip of silver which is then soldered together using a torch (usually). Here's my question...I've been doing some work with silver tape wraps and I solder those using a solid silver solder and a solder "gun" pen type tool. Can I use that same solder and "gun" process to solder flat/bezel work? Trying to simplify without having to buy more "stuff". Thanks! Thanks

No - I tried this myself and for some reason I could not get it to hold - maybe because it is a larger area - I am not sure, but it didn't work for me :(
