It was so hot that day at the Battle of Monmouth in June of 1778. Some say the temperature climbed to over 100 degrees. Molly, never tiring, carried buckets of water to the soldiers on the battle field. Who really was Molly Pitcher?
I see Molly Pitcher as an embodiment of all the women who followed their husbands to battle and became water carriers.
