For over 3 years I've been posting about the Cherokee of Georgia and their Tribal Grounds. Stumbled on this video from the April Pow Wow earlier this year. The Red Bird Singers, Jr. are the Drum group.

This was in the afternoon on Friday. Don't look for me, I was in the kitchen helping get supper ready smile

Here's a clip of the TV station interview on Tuesday prior to the October 2010 Pow Wow. That was a busy day! The Chief and his wife were at the hospital, hoping their new Great Grandchild would arrive before Pow Wow. The rest of Council and others were down in Jacksonville, doing this promo. My husband and I were in the kitchen fretting and praying over the lasagna supper for that night.

The Tribal Princess describes the unique design of the Tear Dress trademarked by the Cherokee of Georgia. That's all beadwork on her crown! Jamie Nemeth provides a little sample of his beautful flute music.

I think I enjoy Jamie Nemeth's storytelling as much as his beautiful flute music. In this clip he describes how young men used the flute for attracting young ladies.

Sarah, the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Princess is amazing. She excels at everything she takes on to learn. In this clip she shares her flute music, as her Father, the Vice Chief watches proudly.

I love music of the flute and Sarah is really good.

Jamie is quite entertaining -- I loved the courting song he played.

I looked for the kitchen window to see if you were peeking out, Jane. Did not see you. Is that the Grand Entry in the video? It is very impressive and makes me feel like I am right there watching them. I sure miss going to PowWows. There are not that many out here where I am.

Thanks for sharing the videos.
