I watched Skyline on Netflix last night.

Ugh!!! It was the most awful - NOT feel good movie I have watched in a LONG time.

You know, not all horror movies end with that feeling of having no hope - whatsoever!

That being said, the special affects were fantastic! The aliens were very cool and scary.

But I'm sorry, brain eating aliens? Really??? Just eating all of humanities brains and then what? Find another planet of beings with brains?

How did these aliens ever even evolve? Did they live on a world where brains just grew on trees???

Ugh!!! At least in War of the Worlds, humanity prevailed.

HA HA....I realized I should have said "Spoiler Alert" AND "Vent Alert" HA HA HA!!!

LOL - I've never seen it, and I don't think I wil now. There are so many silly horror movies out there because they can be made quite cheaply. Funny rant though Deanna LOL.

I fell asleep the last time I tried to watch it but the next day when I asked my husband how it ended, what he said made me not want to go back and finish the movie.

I agree. I always like the movies where in the end, we still win...or at least have some hope of winning!

Though I'm still quite impressed with how everything LOOKED in the movie - I'm still dealing with the aftermath of the nightmares I had last night :::Grrrr:::::

Did you ever see the movie "Cloverfield?" It kind of reminded me of that, except they weren't video taping their ordeal - the whole movie was just from their point of view.

Yeah, this movie was pretty hopeless at the end.

I did see Cloverfield and from what I remember about it I remember that I did not like the ending. My kids were complaining about that movie weeks after we'd watched it. lol

I liked Cloverfield, I thought it was a really clever film - and lets face it - in situations like that we wouldn't win. The movie Independence Day is SO corny and full of it, I can't stand the cornyness of that film. Plus, Will Smith drives me mad LOL. We would've lost in that movie too.

I love happy endings or hope at the end of a horror film, and I think with Cloverfield they should have just had the camera run out of battery power. The whole point of a horror is the moral that good should win - with alien movies though - sometimes the villains are so powerful theres no way we would.

I watched 'Lets scare Jessica To Death' and 'The Loved Ones' yesterday, they were both really good in different ways, 'The Loved ones' was fantastic - it's a little known Australian horror which has had brilliant reviews but had no marketing, which is a shame, as it deserved to do well.

I'm so the opposite. When I was typing my last post I was thinking about how much I LOVED Independence Day...especially Will Smith...lol

One of things my hubby was teasing me about with Skyline was that I said "but it has that guy from 'Scrubs.' And he was in 'Clueless' too, and I LOVED that movie!"

War of the Worlds is something I imagine would be closer to what it would be like for us. Because I have to hold out the hope that in the end, we'd still win.
