If you have something to do that you just can't face, promise yourself a reward. Knowing that you will get a reward at the end may help you get started.

Research has shown that people with ADD are better able to attend if they have a reward. Make sure that it is a reward that you really want.

Little kids with ADHD can be incredibly fast on their feet and creative about evading adult supervison. Talk with the kids about summer safety.
These are a few things that you need to tell them:
*be careful around cars
*leave fire crackers alone, unless you are supervised
*never give out information to strangers, not even people that you have talked to on the internet. They are still strangers, even though you may have traded secrets.

Keep the lines of communications open between you and your kids. Have a great summer with your precious ones!

When traveling, take your own healthy snacks. That way, you don't have to stop at service stations to get food. Use your stops to go to the park-like stops. Get out and walk around. Burn some energy off!

Only stop at gas stations to get gas. This will limit impulse spending and eating.

Hey Connie,

I really love how you divided the tips up to keep readers coming back for more tips. I also love it that you are able to provide families with much needed information especially when traveling and safety. Some people don't realize how important safety is at all times. I hope you were able to post this on your fb page so that parents could benefit from the tips. Thanks for sharing!

Your welcome Tuculia! I don't actually post on Facebook at this time. Thanks for the good idea. If I start posting, I'll definitely put the tips on there.

Find something to laugh about each day. It will help to brighten your outlook.

If you want to laugh on Saturday, listen to the NPR show, "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" It's a silly romp through the week's news.
