haha - well that's a hot topic for debate. I think the original is a lot better because the girl gets in there and gets her revenge - in this version she set up 'Saw' like traps, and even though it was good watching her get her revenge, it wasn't very realistic.

It was also harrowing to watch the first half where she gets attacked. It's a very controversial movie, but it does raise important points about society. If you haven't seen the original, watch that one first, I would say. The re-make is a bit silly and far too graphic in some scenes.

Thanks Steven! I saw the movie. Your reviews are absolutely right. I want to still see the original one. The movie was painful but I found the part before she gets attacked extremely silly. I mean a hot girl living in the woods with no weapon!

Yeah, I agree. In the seventies when the first one came out, I think it had it's place - plus it wasn't so brutal.

I think they should have had the character with a gun, or at least a stun gun to protect herself. Mind, she did have mace and she did use it and escape - she just ran into the wrong cop.

It would be nice to go and stay in a lovely cabin and finish a book, but these days, I'd be very wary about it. None of the girls I know would ever dream of doing it. Though there's always that line of though - it won't happen to me, I guess.

I only saw the remake a while back. The remake is hard to catch, I used to live in a bigger city and it was never available in my movie rental story and I never saw it playing in one of the many movie channels I have. I hated the remake. I did not care at all for the woman so when it came to her getting raped and tortured I felt nothing for her. Plus it is long and boring and when you finally arrive to what happens to her that too is long and boring. I love revenge stories and I have to admit that the ways she gets her revenge are cool but that too have no life so it did not make me cheer. If one day I get the chance to see the original uncensored I'll watch it (i think i may have to become a member in 1 of those rent movies websites to be able to finally see it).
