How do you find a job as a musician?

These days we get most of our gigs through already established clients and word of mouth, and via our Island Fever Band website.

Our band website has info, photos, and song sample demos (some audio, some video).

Many bands make an EPK (electronic press kit) and contact booking agents and entertainment directors at venues with it. Some still send their promo packs and demos via US Post.

My website and life right now is about researching the unemployment arena and how folks are coping and finding jobs. From my own personal experience of being laid off in 2008, stayed on unemployment benefits until 2010 and then had to be "creative" about my income when BOTH my unemployment and savings ran out - my heart is for those who are still unemployed. So if you think of any other tips that might help an unemployed musician, please feel free to either visit my site or the bella unemployed forum to share. That is what life and the recession is about - folks helping other folks
