Wow! Thank you all so much for making me feel welcome as Editor of the Sandwich Site. I appreciate all of your comments and requests. It keeps me in a creative frenzy!

If you've followed what I've written, you probably already know that I am somewhat frugal. I don't believe in throwing food away. Spending money on high quality products doesn't bother me-waste does. This week my refrigerator was the inspiration for the recipe.

What do you do with those tiny bits of shredded cheese that are left at the bottom of the bag? Do you have a little dibble-dabble of cheese in about four different bags? Put the cheese onto a bun, and bake a great, melted mixed cheese sandwich! Add some lettuce, tomatoes, or fresh sprouts. Woo hooo!

This post is just to let you know that this is your sneak peek notice. Open the link, and let me know what you think! smile

Melted Mixed Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Until we meet again,
Connie

Use different combinations of cheeses for variety. While this is good to clean out your cheese crumbs, you can also deliberately craft tastes. It's a fantastic little sandwich.

Delicious idea Connie!

I added onions, tomatoes, and ground turkey on it--I've never tasted a simple bun so wonderful! I HAD 2 almost empty bags of cheddar/mozzarella and monterey jack.

You never disappoint us Connie!

What a wonderful, frugal and tasty idea. I always end up throwing out those little snippets of cheese. Excellent idea, can't wait to try it out!

Ideas like this are fantastic for making us use what we have - to make us think! - and to stretch out the food budget every inch. I love it.

Sounds like a good sandwich to me, Connie. I often do this with leftover cheeses, and I love tomatoes on a grilled cheese sandwich.

I like frugal ways, too. Sometimes I take all those bits and pieces of cheese and toss them in a fry pan with a little butter. When the cheeses have melted, I dip it up with crackers. Awesome with a glass of ice cold milk!

I got this idea from my grandson. He lives close by and stops in often for a snack. He wanted a cheese sandwich and I only had small pieces of cheddar, swiss, jack and pepper jack. He melted them all together as above, got the box of crackers and a glass of milk and sat down to watch tv.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! It sounds like your grandson has picked up your creative and frugal ways.
