Has anyone else experienced the horrible "special effects" in this movie? I didn't even know the movie existed until today when I was in the Video Store. I'm glad I didn't rent it - watching it on Netflix.

I was surprised too!!! Absolutely NO WHERE as good as the original. Totally different characters. I won't tell you the spoiler, but you've seen the first one you're pretty much got this one - set in modern day.

How can you have a "Titanic II"? Unless I got my history wrong the ship is at the bottom of the Atlantic. The makes it hard to have a sequel.

hahaha. Craig58 - I know, pretty weird huh? It's on Netflix. It was probably a straight to DVD. The story line is exactly the same. It's about the maiden voyage of a ship that was built to commemorate the original ship, I guess.

I loved Titantic, but I prefer the Celine Dion soundtrack to it! I'm guessing by the sounds of Titantic II they rebuild or build a new boat called Titantic II? Same plot.... sequels are never as good as the original though!

Maybe the sequel could be something like "Titanic" meets "The Poseidon Adventure" or "Titanic" meets "The Abyss".

Wow I'd never even heard of that. It sounds odd - that movie didn't need a sequel!

Hmmm... puzzling! I wouldn't mind seeing a movie based on the life of Rose after Titanic sunk... she apparently was rocking it, judging from the pictures on her nightstand.

Yeah i have experienced it and found it totally impressive. I watched both movies titanic and titanic 2. It is true that titanic movie was far better than the titanic 2. Lets leave it. I don't think there is any need of comparing both these movies as they are completely different from each other.

I agree. A movie about Rose's life after she got to the states would make for some very interesting viewing.

James Cameron's Titanic movie was awesome. I saw it about 4 times in the theater.

Did anyone get a chance to buy the 20th Century Fox authentic life-sized replica of the Heart of the Ocean necklace that came out while the movie was in theaters? It was sold through the J. Peterman Company. I was fortunate to get one in the small window of time that it was available, and I wore it at least once to the theater to view the Titanic movie.

It is really hard to find on the market now.

I think I saw that on SyFy. It was a ship christened as Titanic II set to sail the same path as the Titanic on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic.

If it was on SyFy it was probably a company that rips out these movies with CGI effects by the boatload (no pun intended). Instead of a CGI prehistoric monster in present day it was a sinking ship.
