Hey, guess what, I've been here for a year! My first article for BellaOnline's Astronomy page was called "What Herschel Found in a Dark Cloud" and it went live on May 3, 2010. Herschel is the Herschel Space Observatory, named for William and Caroline Herschel. It observes in the infra-red so it can see all kinds of interesting things that are invisible to our eyes. In this case it found a stellar nursery that even other infra-red telescopes hadn't been able to see.

Congratulations on your first year Mona.
Love reading your articles, and you have no idea how many times I have wished I had had you at my elbow, when I was standing on the roof (flat) of our home with my youngest son and our telescope.
We had lived in Belgium for eight years, which even in our area in the country had so much cloud and pollution there were no stars to be seen.
When we moved to Germany on our first night he looked up at the sky and said, look, look the sky is full of stars, why?
Unfortunately without you around at the time I, plus book, map of stars and telescope, did not do a very efficient job of explaining the constellations..it made for memorable experiences however.
Thanks for your articles, and Happy Anniversary.
