Have you ever been pricked by an HIV infected needle while fishing for coins in a coin slot? Ever sat down in a seat in the movie theater only to be pricked by a needle that was in the seat and then found a note that read: Welcome to the world of AIDS.

It is stories like these that keep the stigma attached to HIV/AIDS in the negative. The disease does not live for long outside of the body. It is not airborne. It is prudent to be diligent but a life of fear is not a life at all. Let's stop circulating these horror stories and start circulating the facts.

So Jontay, you are saying that a needle that is infected by the HIV/aids whatever it is called (bacteria?) is not something to be concerned about?

I am trying to understand how this works?

Thanks,

Well, you should always be concerned when something like that happens. It could be something else that is looking to get into your blood stream. Something contagious or something you may be allergic to. Who knows?

While Jontay is right about the virus not being able to survive outside of the host's body, if you can, grab the needle and go and seek immediate medical help, if fo9r nothing more than to at least get a tetanus shot. If you were able to safely bring the needle with you, give it to the doctor who sees you, at the hospital.
