A client told me that she and a friend went to happy hour the other evening so they both had appetizers and a couple of strong drinks then she went for a walk after she got home?

Is it a good idea to exercise after you drink alcohol? A leisure walk is not an issue but any other type of workout is a big no no!!!

Alcohol impairs your coordination and reflexes and you can hurt yourself pretty badly (fall, pulled muscles, broken bones). Weights, yoga, aerobics, pilates, bicyling, bodyweight training and most sports are off limits after drinking booze.

If you want to drink booze on a workout day do it after your workout and be sure to eat protein before you start drinking to prevent any blood sugar spikes and slow down the fat storage response.
