CNN and other news sources have been heavily playing the story of the Libyan woman Iman al-Obeidi who says Gaddafi's forces gang-raped her.
It made me think about all other many other women who have been raped and abused during these various recent conflicts, but we don't seem to hear about them. It's as if we don't really care. but this one woman, because we saw her crying on video, we care about.
Do you think that's an issue we generally face as a culture? That if we see one instance we connect with it - but if it's a "mass of women" it somehow becomes too large to connect with emotionally?
