Hi Everyone:

I have a "cough" that just will not go away after finally "getting over" (I think it is gone/lol) the flu (or may have been a cold) that I caught the last Sunday in February.

While I am not complaining as it is so nice to have back my life (no time to be in the bed), it is so frustrating to not be able to sleep at nights. Yes, the minute I lay down, the cough arrives smile

I do need to visit a doctor, but cannot afford one right now.

Any thoughts on this and what steps I can try?

Thanks a bunch everyone smile

My husband and son had the flu in about the same time frame as you. They developed coughs that seemed to hang on forever. In fact, their coughs lasted for two months. And they usually get over colds/flu in about two weeks or less. Here are some things they tried to reduce their coughing at bedtime:
hot showers, hot tea, sleeping somewhat propped up with pillows, cough drops, cough medicine, humidifier in bedroom.

I will have to be honest. These measures only helped slightly and made them a little more comfortable.
