Which professor would you feel had more credibility -- a professor who used Twitter to post personal information or a professor who used Twitter to post scholarly information?

I'm not sure I'm connecting with the word credibility in this article. All of the professors would seem credible to me. The one who tweeted more personally would seem more friendly to me - I would feel a stronger connection to them. But that isn't the same thing as credible in my mind.

I thought the same thing. It seems like "Credibility" might not be the right term. I agree that I might feel more connected to a professor who posts personal information, but I would feel a professor who posted information about the subject he or she teaches would have more credibility as an expert in the field.

What do others of you think?

Which types of information would you rather hear from a professor on a social networking site - personal or professional? Why?
