Please enjoy the article What is Henna?

Did you know that in tandem, henna and tattoos have been used with kohl or black eye makeup since the Bronze Age in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia?

Did you know that in in the Bible, henna is mentioned in the Song of Solomon -- it's called Camphire, and that it is also in the Talmud?

Did you know that in many places henna perfume is experiencing a renaissance?

Did you know that Henna can be a repellant for some pests and insects?

Not only was it used to adorn people -- horses, donkeys, and salukis tails, paws, and hooves, were hennaed. It has also been used used to die leather, silk, and wool.

Also, from the varying words for henna in languages of old, and from its differing uses, historians gather that henna was discovered in more than one place or had more than one point of origin!

love all these pieces. Very sweet. I'm sure this process is a lot of fun! Glad the daisies worked out. It's amazing that they can remain frozen in time! ------------
