Kids with learning disabilities may get frustrated very easily. You may find yourself in a power struggle or even in a dangerous situation.

Sometimes when a child is escalated, the best thing that a person can do to help them is to give them space. Don't talk to them until they have a chance to cool down. You are right. Giving them space does not mean leaving them alone. They need to be monitored from a distance.

When the child is calm is the best time to problem solve and figure out more appropriate behaviors.

Your article has a lot of good points.

I think we should Encourage and reinforce the child's positive behaviors whenever possible. Although you may be frustrated by behavior. Generally, speak positively to the child and let her know you have confidence in her.

They need assistance in how to critically reflect on their failure, to realize them in a positive light and thereby change their image of themselves. Parents should be taught their children how to be positive by telling them positive things every day.

I totally agree with you. The child would benefit from positive reinforcement. Thanks
