Whenever I address someone with "Hello, " I tend to follow with "How are you today?"

Most people give a run down of how they are actually feeling and this sometimes sparks a simple conversation. I walk away feeling pretty much the same as when I arrived on the scene.

This morning, my UPS man responded, "Feeling fine. Living the dream." I love that! He has certainly made my day. I'm still amazed at how infectious joyful energy is.

So, "how are you today?"

"How are you today" is something my 3 1/3 yr old is working on at preschool. She will tell me she is "very fine thank you" when you ask her.

Me...I am good today! Hopefully gonna get some spring cleaning done, or at least spring clean the puppy lol!

Got some spring cleaning done and just brushed the puppy. He was outside with my grandaugher digging in the sandbox and then rolling around in the sand so I was glad I hadn't given him a bath already!! It was a beautiful day...the sun was shining and it felt so good on my face. I felt like I'd been living under a rock somewhere. Visited with my neighbor while the girls played outside and dinner turned out perfect. Will have to try again tommorow for another perfect day!

Today I am feeling happy, I am looking quite pretty in my gray outfit and excited about going out for lunch with my office colleagues.

I always have problems with this question. I assume people literally want to know how i am doing, so i start to tell them.

At some point i realize they just wanted me to say, "fine." That 'how are you' is just a greeting and not a query.

It's a social thing that has been an issue my whole life. Does anyone else ever find this to happen?

Yes Jilly, I know exactly what you mean! I think sometimes people are sorry they asked me how I was and should've just said hello!

Maybe "How are you?" is the perfect opportunity for you to make your day a little brighter. When I am not having the best moment, but am asked this question. I find that I quickly assess my situation and realize that it is not as bad as I thought. So, I end up responding, "Not so bad," with a smile.

These days I'm loving life and living the dream.

How about you?

I'm not fine I feel the emptiness and loneliness of missing someone that's my love one. He left me to work abroad for our future... I really miss him so much! How about you?

Hi everyone!!!! I'm having a wonderful day, have gotten a lot of stuff done and now I'm just going to sit back and relax. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Today, I had a lovely time meeting an old friend's little girls. We'd been out of touch for a while and now we're back in each other's lives. They came to decorate a gingerbread house and have some lunch. They played with my chihuahua.

Now, I'm getting a chance to write. My husband, daughter and I will take a stroll in Disneyland to see the Christmas lights after dinner.

kooperkin21 , missing someone is such a sweet sentiment in my book. Make the most of it & focus on the things you love most about that person and give thought to some of the best times you had with that loved one, this makes for some of the happiest moments. Finally, when you get a chance call, email, skype or write your loved one about those characteristics you love and moments that make you smile so that you give their day a lift as well. Then, take that boost and be productive. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

Awful just like every other days I spent in that new town and just like most of every other days before moving here. I was looking forward my Hockey game tonight but looks like I will be missing the start since it's on TSN and there's another game before and that game is far from over (my game starts at 22:00 and theres more than 11 minutes left to the other game), I will try to find it on the internet but when it is a game with a Canadian team it's often blocked and my team is playing of course against a Canadian team tonight! Even a little thing like that ends up not working, that's my stupid life.

those days can be quite frustrating. I hope today is better.

I'm on antibiotics since Friday afternoon. The dentist who hurt me (on november 13 she did a filling on a tooth that had no problem and it hurt since then) finally realised Friday morning that I had an infection on the tooth she screwed up. I cannot swallow pills so I have to chew them, not a fun thing to do! Soo I'll take pill number eight. Yesterday afternoon I had a panic attack and thought I was choking to death (that infection go into my throat and neck). Today it seems better but I have a huge headache, still have no taken any aspirins since I'm fed up of chewing pills, I will take some if that headache does not go away soon. Next time I have to take an antibiotic I'm going to the hospital and will ask them to give it to me by a needle (if i knew friday that it could be taken this way thats what i would of done!!!!!!!!!)!

So, the good thing is that she found the infection. That it was delayed is background noise. The pain that you are currently feeling is actually normal. There was a time when we suffered through such things because we needed to be able to detect where problems existed in our bodies. The pain gave us clues to how well we were healing or how bad off we really were.

I'm happy to know that things are moving in the right direction.

I hope they continue to get better and better and better.

Thanks Yvonnie! Last night was the second night that I was able to sleep well. I woke up with no pain (if you dont count the right leg cramp i got after streching before coming out of the bed) and I even had energy but this afternoon I ate a few bretzels then I thought I had some stuck in my throat on the left then the left side of the neck started hurting then I panicked and ended up with a headache. Took another pill less than two hours ago and besides the headache and some back neck pain I'm okay. I think I'll need to go to the hospital after my medication is taken even if it did worked, they'll take some blood to see if the infection is gone plus an xray of my throat and a doctor telling me nothing is wrong with my esophagus, throat and neck will help me get rid of thinking I will choke everytime I eat something. That stupid dentist and the other one who did a full examination and who was not able to see I had an infection will at least receive a complaint after I'm over this, there's ridiculous lawsuits all over the world and this is not ridiculous!

When someone will ask me, how I am today, I will immediately response, I am the same as usual, with a smiling face, but if I feel down, I will not answer sometimes, I will just give a "fake smile" or sometimes I will just say, quite okay.

Remember, the question, "how are you today?" is an opportunity for you to consider what is happening in your life at that very moment. Most likely, in that present moment life is just fine. With that in mind, that question presents you with an opportunity to feel "Amazing", and to believe it.
