I'm fairly new to country music. I first got interested by listening to Taylor Swift. Okay, don't take a swing, I suppose many true country fans see her as a pop artists, but coming from a rock and roll background, I see her as country

What I love about her are the rich, warm guitars.

I also love SheDaisy. Their harmonies are incredible!

I would love to hear recommendations from people... You know, if I like Taylor Swift and SheDaisy, then I'd probably love?????

Deanna, you have me curious about SheDaisy! I haven't heard them yet, and I love good harmonies.

I am sure you are already familiar with Alison Krauss. I think her vocals and music are exquisite.

I really like Kate Wolf . She has passed away, but was well loved for her country folk music. I used to sing her The Redtail Hawk, and Medicine Wheel. There is an annual music festival in remembrance of her. The link is on the same website.

I am also very fond of Mary McCaslin . I love her version of Don't Fence Me In. And she does a scintillating Pinball Wizard on the banjo! I had a couple of her albums (they are in storage somewhere) and learned several of her songs.

And I love Buffy St. Marie's Piney Wood Hills, and Eagle Man.

Have you heard Rita Coolidge and her sister and niece in their Native American group, Walela? They do some beautiful music, too. Very special. One of the songs they do that I like is called Wash Your Spirit Clean.

I like Shania Twain..my favorite song is 'You've got a way'..it was used for this movie 'Notting Hill' too. It's such a dreamy, romantic number.

Shania Twain is the best female country music singer Nashville ever produced. She signed a 2-year deal with Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. 60 shows. She begins in December, 2012.

Personally I'm not up on the most recent country music anymore but am a fan of the classics and some early pop/country/crossover country music from the 80s-90s.

If you haven't tried Pandora radio yet online you should. It is perfect for finding "like" artists. You can sign up for a free account and have up to 100 radio stations. A radio station is a song, artist/group or music genre that you plug in and it searches for similar music. I love it and have found a lot of great music that way.
