BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Sci Fi/Fantasy Movies New Batman: Catwoman announced. What do we think?

The third Chris Nolan Batman movie, 'The Dark Knight Rises' is going to be out soon and they've announced that Anne Hathaway will be playing Catwoman. Tom Hardy will be playing Bane (the character that broke Batman's back.) And Christian Bale is back with his screaming, over the top voice, as Batman.

For me the Burton Batman movies are the best by far.
I'm a mega fan of Catwoman - you name it, I have it LOL, and this came from Michelle Pfeiffer's AMAZING performance as Selina in Tim Burtons 'Batman Returns' - I really can't see anyone else doing a better job, or even coming up to par. I think Anne might do an okay job, but a lot will depend on the script and costume.



I'm not a fan of Nolan's Batman, because he show's little respect for the comic books. I did like 'Batman Begins' but I hated 'The Dark Knight' and felt it only did so well because of poor Heath Ledgers death. I hope he doesn't mess with Selina Kyles/Catwoman's character too much as he did with The Joker's. For me, Anne Hathaway plays so many good girl roles it's hard to picture, though she was great in 'Brokeback Mountain' etc.

What do other fans think?

I think Anne can play evil and glamorous, but she will bring a very different dynamic to the role - the last film i saw of hers was The Devil Wears Prada. From that movie i would have chosen Emily Blunt, I think, but it's a pity Meryl Streep couldn't do it.

LOL - I never rated Meryl as much as the Oscars seem to - she's good at crying, I'll give her that. I would have preffered Emily Blunt - but the Devil Wears Prada I found terrible I must say - she was the only good thing about it IMO.
