Looking for flexibility in your life? Not really looking for a 9 to 5? Need more flexibility in your work schedule? Working as a "permanent" temp may be the answer. Is is possible to make a career from temping? Absolutely!

Yes it is Dianne.

I have gotten some AWESOME jobs through temping. I love the fact that it gives BOTH the employer and myself a chance to do a "test run" (lol). So many times you have no idea if it will be a FIT for both.

Awesome question!

I have had only a handful of bad experiences with temping (one job description was to assist the VP--I ended up stuffing envelopes all day for a week before I was about to go crazy!). My latest temp positions have actually led to permanent offers...love the article, it's very helpful.

Hi Dianne,

I thought your article on temping was good. I owned a temping agency some years ago and yes it was a good solution. Thanks for posting!

My first job out of college was temping for about a year and 1/2. My first assignment was a 9 month assignment. I didn't really like temping but if I lost my job I'd definitely go back to it.

I saw the other day for Kellly (used to temp for them too) for work from home temp positions. I'm going to apply for that just to have some extra income.
