Hi Donna:

You did an AWESOME job with your article smile

I don't hang anything on our walls, but my boyfriend does. Pictures, collectibles - you name it, he has it up = a regular musuem (lol).

We have sconces, floral swags above doors, pictures, mirrors, and some handmade decor and accents to name a few. We don't over do it, because this would just make the walls feel cluttered. We have lots of big windows in our house, so really we are limited, but we can view the beauty of the outdoors.

I have pictures and a couple of sconces. I have been eying some of those gel fuel fireplaces though, and I may get one before too long.

Thanks, Angela! I'm glad you liked my article. I know lots of people like your boyfriend that enjoy hanging all sorts of things on their walls. My daughter included! She has almost every square inch covered in her bedroom.

PJK, I love mirrors on the wall and definitely handmade decor!

Sarah, your fireplace idea would be a great architectural element! I am always looking for ways to bring architectural interest to my home. One simple thing I do is hang empty frames. I just love them grouped together and they each bring their own textural quality to the space.

Thanks for sharing what you do in your homes. I love finding out how others decorate! My home has relatively little on the walls right now. Just a few frames, mirrors and favorite flea market paintings. I tend to have lots of stand-alone shelves loaded with my china collection in lieu of hanging anything on the walls.
