Hello everyone,

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and I thought I would do a series of articles on using up leftovers. I'd like some suggestions on which leftovers give you the most trouble; and which ones you'd like to use in new recipes. So far, I've got some new recipes for leftover mashed potatoes, leftover ham, and leftover cranberry sauce which will be published in the coming weeks.

I'd love to hear from you.

Karen

Hi Karen:

Using Holiday leftovers makes sense - saves you some time in having to prepare something new and also with saving money.

But sometimes there are no leftovers if the cook is an awesome one (lol) - and don't forget, some of us leave with "doggie bags" for home......

Hi Karen. One of the things I would find interesting and a take on leftovers is using ingredients when cooking for one - so for instance buying in small quantities is good, but often you may need to be creative to fully use an ingredient if doing single portions. One solution is to regularly freeze items, but alternative suggestions for basic ingredients would be welcome.
