It's by Ellen Sandbeck, who wrote, Green Housekeeping. She's so funny, as well as eye-opening.

For instance, she says (right on the book cover!) that dirt and dust are good for you. Timidity is dangerous, runny noses improve children's health, and autoimmune disorders are caused by a dearth of intestinal parasites.

Not for the faint of heart, but I'm old and have raised a bunch of kids and other relatives in looser arrangements. I'm inured to grime and gore. Besides which, I really don't like housekeeping -- as defined early on by my German/British relatives, who got up every day and did 2 hours of cleaning whether it needed it or not! The Okie side just moved every few years, LOL. I like to think I'm somewhere in between the two extremes...
