I know over the years I've had a hard time proving to my own children that things they think are all different animals (as in the examples I used in the article) are really just the same animal with different common names!
It's kind of like the way that, in the US, the words soda, cola and pop are all the same thing (a soft drink), but with different names in different parts of the country. My family moved around when I was young, and I would often run into this sort of thing. So, of course, imagine that if there's that sort of situation within the same country, how many difficulties arise amongst the different countries!
