I was reading the book - "What Makes You Tick? How Successful People Do It - and What You Can Learn From Them" It's about choosing which road to take that will lead to your own personal success. It is a collection of 45 stories from successful people including Bobby Flay, Bob Woodward, Brian Williams, Mario Andretti - and how they became successful. They also offer a nugget of inside on how to be successful.
The premise of the book is that successful people fall into 4 basic categories:
- Natural Born leaders - They find success from managing "complex challenges." They take on challenges and strive to move up the corporate ladder. They want to go as high up the ladder as they possibly can.
- Independence Seekers - Live life on their own terms. They do it their way. They are challenged by the work, not the title.
- Visionaries - They see what others do not. According to the book, visionaries are "relentless" and strive to change the world. They favorite question is "why not", not just "why".
- Do-gooders - Their greatest sense of accomplishments comes from doing the most good for the greaest number of people.
