I'm trying to decide what to do about my container garden this year. What do you plan to grow?

Hi Angie:

I like a mixture of anything that grows and does not demand alot of my time.

Every year I experiment with various types of plants always trying to get the ones on sale.

Have not quite decided on what as yet until the weather gets warmer and I can see what places like WalMart have to offer.

I need the plants that are hard to kill (lol).

I don't do well with plants that are not outside in the dirt.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.

Angela

I need ones that are hard to kill too. The soil in containers dries out so quickly and you need large containers for some plants. Flowers seem to do OK but vegetables need space for roots.

I have two of those hanging vegetable containers, but they blew down in a wind and killed the tomato plants i had in them. I will have to try again this spring.

That's a shame. I have no place to hang a topsy turvy plant.

What is a growbox? I have planter boxes for my petunias or flowers each year. I've added large pots for veges and other flowers but I'll need some additional ones which are larger. I don't like cherry tomatoes so I want to plant patio tomatoes. The boxes I used last year were a tad too small but they were not too leafy and had only a couple tomatoes. Perhaps I did or didn't do something to encourage leaves and fruit. Any suggetions?

Hello Angie, Can you give me some more info on your garden? What size? What containers? How many? A little on what you like? Then I will be able to give you some suitable ideas for your garden. Got the soil and the plan and the sunshine and the shade and your time to think about. Cheers for now Lestie for Container Gardens
