I feel kind of strange asking this question, but has anyone considered a senior assistance company, somebody that can come in to your home and help you with light chores, or some errands. The one company I am considering even helps with light exercise. My family lives a good distance away so I was just checking my options. This is the one I have been looking at, [url]http://www.heavenlycaregivers.com[url], but I don't know.... It makes me feel like I am giving up my independence....

Hi sbeamon:

Do what your insides say to do. In other words, if you feel you need to do this - go ahead and give it a try smile

Thank you,

You wouldn't be giving up independence - you'd be gaining valuable time. Life's too short to do everything yourself.

Mom and Dad have a neighbor who does a few chores for them and they pay directly. You might try finding a neighbor by asking around. In this economy there's likely to be someone close by who could help out now and then. Maybe even an older teen. A neighbor might be concerned enough to check on you now and then to see that you're doing okay.
