Quinoa is a grain substitute with supercharged nutrition. It provides an alternative for those with gluten sensitivity or anyone looking for something nutritious and tasty. It's growing in popularity and can be found in many grocery stores in the grains section or bulk bins. Read more and get a yummy recipe for it in the latest post on the Allergies and Colds page at http://www.bellaonline.com/site/allergiesandcolds

Great article and thanks for the recipe! My husband is on a gluten free diet and we eat quinoa frequently. You can make salads from it or serve it hot as a pilaf.

You are right. It is so versatile.

I eat it almost everyday for breakfast. I cook up a batch and store in the fridge. Every morning I scoop out a serving, pour some almond milk on top and heat it in the microwave. I top it off with some toasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pie spice.

Sheree, this is a great article. My daughter needs to stay away from gluten as much as possible. I emailed your article to her. Thank you so much.

Thank you. I hope your daughter enjoys quinoa as much as I do. Tell her to try the different varieties too. I especially like the black quinoa and red quinoa.
