There used to be great craft shows on TV. Anybody know of any on now?

Hi daisybun:

No I don't, have not had much time to watch TV.

Have you checked the listing for your local area?

I know some local newspapers have an "insert" for the TV stations and some cable companies have the same.

Good Luck and let us know if you find out anything.

Angela

Sorry, I have no idea anymore as I live in Europe. Maybe HGTV might have some?

This Discovery channel used to have the most amazing craft shows. It's what got me started in different crafts but I don't think they have any now.

You might check online. Sometimes there are shows there or you could find the names of some.

You're right about the TV shows. There were a lot of good ones and I haven't seen any lately. I will look into it...

I don't know about you but, has anyone else noticed that Martha Stewart isn't doing as many craft and art projects as she has in the past...

Well, I've checked around on the hundreds of channels that now occupy the cable networks. I have not seen any actually networks, channels or even regular shows dedicated to art of any kind. There were a few demonstrations of projects for an interior design show but, not specific to the Paper Crafts medium. However....

Internet TV is making a big splash these days. In fact, the top guy at Google, has been touting the future of online TV for many months now. He is absolutely convinced that is the way of the future. I know a few people who are TV producers/developers and they say exactly the same thing.

I'm still surfing the Big Wave that is the internet, for shows that are art and Paper Crafts related but, when I find them you'll be the first to know...

Check PBS for videos online or YouTube for series. If your local channels don't have something, many stations share their content via YouTube.

Hello Violette;

The only creative shows I have seen on PBS are cooking shows. Yes, youtube has a lot art videos but, they tend to be hit or miss.

Also, if you want a particular technique it can be hard to find on youtube.

Awesome quotes in your post by the way....

OK, I have gone on some searches for art shows on internet TV. It's a bit frustrating. The Food Network has done such a great job of exposing food for what it is... A creative endeavor that everyone can do with the right tools. Sounds very much like Paper and Mixed Media art work.

If anyone can tell me where I can go on the internet to find art shows that are anywhere near the equivalent to something like the Food Network, that would be fantastic! I will keep looking...
