I've been searching the interent for the best places for senior discounts and have quite a few articles on my boomer blog, listing where and how to get them. Also, lots of coupon sites, freebies, etc, not just for seniors but for everyone.

If anyone knows of other senior discounts, I'd be happy to add them.

Well, I think you can buy your neighborhood newpapers, I am sure they will tell you where to go for Seniors Discount. They might have coupons for you. And also look for Seniors Magazines too. I hope this helps. I will look for more informations for you.

Many times to find out if there is a senior discount offered, you have to ask. Many businesses don't offer the info.

I found out Kroger offers a senior membership card and you get senior discounts on many of the foods and especially if you go on Tuesday. this isn't really advertised. When i went with my mom to Fred Meyer in Oregon (a division of Kroger) I asked them if they had the same thing and they do. My mom and sister had never heard of that and they shop there all the time.

The best thing to do is ask.

I agree with BoomerGal. Seems like more and more, and especially with the economy as it is, you have to ask about any kind of discount.

Beall's Department store offers senior discounts (20%) and on the 1st Tues of the month. I think this is Texas stores. for the 50 plus club (age 50 or older).

I've read that you can even bargain on larger purchases anymore, and not just for senior discounts either. I spent 10 years in the military and even got a discount on my electricity because of that.

Our newspaper has a deal too that if you pay for 6 months subscription at one time you get a "press pass" which entitles you to a 20% discount at many restaurants and sometimes a buy one get one free ticket to events, etc. We use it all the time.

An Entertainment book for your area is great too. They always pay for themselves many times over.

We had a Hancock Fabrics here in Arlington, tX but they closed up about 3 years ago. Lucky for you, you still have one in your area.
