Generally between November and January blood donations drop off. This is a busy time of year for most people and a peak time for vacations. It is also the time of year that alcohol consumption increases and drunk driving accidents spike.
If you are able, please remember to make time for a blood donation. For those that are O+ or O-, you are universal donors. For those that are AB+ or AB-, your plasma is universal since it does not contain A or B antibodies. Many hospitals use plateletpheresis from AB donors for infants.
