Having trouble getting motivated to workout lately because you're busy, stressed, tired, overworked, or maybe you just don't feel like it?

Here's a quick way to turn that around. Get your workout gear on then grab a piece of paper, set a timer for 60 seconds and then write down as many reasons why you should exercise in those 60 seconds. The goal is to come up with as many reasons as possible.

One you got all your reasons down just start moving. Yes, it's that easy because when you focus on why you should vs. excuses not to your mind finds a way to get your body to just do it!

Monica, I was giggling as I read your post.

By the time I did all this, I would definately not be interested in working out. With me, I have to just get up and do it, but I am not doing alot like alot of people are. So your suggestion is awesome and a motivator. You do have alot of helpful information to share and I look forward to seeing what you have posted. Love the fact that you seem to visit your forum daily - this is what keeps people coming back. Smart lady indeed.

Well Angela, that's only one of many tricks that I teach my clients/visitors. The other one that works like a charm is the one you described which is to just do it but I call it the 10 min. rule.

Do something anything for 10 min. doesn't matter how lame your effort because after 5-10 min. chances are you'll be feeling better and want to kick it into high gear or at least medium gear ; )

Clearly that one works for you!!

The other one that works really well is the do what you want trick. Don't do something just cuz you feel you have to do it. Instead do what makes you happy. This guarantees you get some movement in your day and forms a positive mental connection with exercise too.
