Happy Thanksgiving! After spending a couple of weeks researching an article on abuse of children and pets I had become quite critical of the human race. Today I spent a couple of hours on Facebook and realized with all my friends across the globe a huge majority are good, decent, and loving people. I am glad I was able to reaffirm my love of people today of all days. As I start chopping, basting, and baking, I will now look forward to a house full of people, because I love them, they are friends and family. I will also think about my friends in Israel, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and many more countries to numerous to mention, especially since I have procrastinated starting the turkey. No they don't celebrate this holiday but are as thankful as I am on this day, holiday or no holiday. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your many blessings!

Hi Diana:

I needed to read your post - thank you.

I had gotten so "over" people and all the animal abuse going on.

***You are so right, there are GOOD people out there - thanks for reminding me.

Have an AWESOME rest of your day/night...... smile

Thank you Angela, I think we all need affirmation or reminding periodically. Sometimes we have to spend so much time with the bad it makes us feel like it all is bad. When in fact, it is a tiny percentage. I am going to make it a habit to pull myself out when working on such stories, jump out of the little garbage can and see the bright sun shiny world!

People get angry over animal abuse and that's supposed to prove that they're good people, but we don't see the goodness too easily that way. Righteous anger may convey good intentions, but it does not convey loving kindness, which is often what the target of the anger needs and which often solves the problem. Ideally we do not just love the sinner. We love them without regards to the sins.
