What is your best way to spend your holiday? It would be more fun to have fun with family and friends, isn't it? Mine is traveling with my friends and families. But, travel is not always fun. We never know what's gonna happen in our life in a split of second. So, it's better to visit the insurance company and finish off the Travel Insurancethings. Do you guys do the same?

I always buy travel insurance whenever fees are non-refundable and I need to pay them upfront. Fro example, whenever I go on a cruise,I buy trip cancellation insurance. Without it, I could end up paying for a vacation that I never took.

Have you ever had an experience when trip insurance was crucial?
Thanks,
Candyce

I guess I am a gambler, I never buy trip insurance, it seems so expensive and I optimistically assume that all will be well. So far, so good; I have never had an experience where having insurance would have been helpful. At this point in my long life, if I lose money on a cancelled trip I would still be ahead for never having paid all those insurance fees.

When my family worked for the British Embassy one of the biggest causes of people turning up for help was people with thousands of pounds worth of medical bills and no insurance. The Embassy couldn't pay them so it usually resulted in relatives (usually parents) having to mortgage or sell their house in order to keep them out of jail. Or falling foul of more informal debt collecting measures.
