Hi, I am member to this forum. Well, I am here to search for an answer. When I am teen, I use to stress over my studies and during that time I do have breathing difficuties. Whenever I visit a doctor, he said I am stress up and I was always given this pill to help me breath more smoothly. When I started to work, I get stress too and the samething happen. I have visited a lot of doctors during these period and some even sent me for ECG test. But all the test show no sign of heart problem. now after 8 over years of work, I think my problem is getting worst. I could not sleep well and I can never sleep by turning to my left side. At time these is chest pain and sometime I have this heart drop feeling. I just don't understand why nothing was detected when I feel so weird around my chest (heart area). I still do execerise like jogging and although my stamina is not as good as in the past, I still manage to last 2.4km at about 20min. Therefore do you guys think I am ok?

Aw Dazzling, that's so scary!

I think if this were happening to me, just to set my mind at rest, I'd go back to the doctor and demand not only another EKG, but also a stress test and the heart panel blood work.

I'm sure there are more tests and you could probably find them by searching online... go in there and be firm! I think once a doc things you're stressed out, they always continue to see you that way.

I've known people who suffered from extreme stress who share your symptoms, and they have no actual heart issues. The thing is, worrying about your heart will only make your stress worse.

Again, I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. Maybe someone has some better advice, but the only thing I can think of is just to get into a doctor who is more understanding. {{{hugs}}}

If your doc is saying it's stress is it possible that maybe you have anxiety issues? Try reading about Anxiety and Panic Attack Symptoms to see if this sounds like your problem.

It sounds to me like when you are in new or stressful situations your body has a hard time coping very well but the one thing that may be an indication that it is something other than stress induced anxiety or panic attacks is if your stamina is declining considerably as time passes.

If that is the case then maybe you can ask to get tested for something called Pulmonary Fibrosis. My mom has this and so do many many people and it's often mis-diagnosed or ignored because there isn't very much awareness about this. Some of the symptoms include always feeling short of breathe, heart arythmias, chronic fatigue, and trouble sleeping. You can read more about it at the link.

Hope this helps you getting the help you need to get healthy. There are solutions to any issue you may be having. You just have to find out what you're dealing with first : )
