For those of you who may live in the Niagara Falls area on the Tuscarora Res. or near it. They have a shop called "Smokin Joes" They have had these zip up hoodies for 22.00 and being on disability I just couldn't afford one. Well today we went in there and they were on sale for $10.00! I am now the proud owner of a pink(my fav. color) hoodie with our clan of the right arm (the Heron) I am thrilled.

Herons are beautiful. I used to watch them up in the Pacific Northwest.

This article included a few of my favorites. Growing up we spent our vacations each year camping on an rather undeveloped barrier island in SC. The dolphins would come very close and swim with us, but never close enough to touch. I've often thought they were protecting us from the sharks. Shark fishing from the surf was permitted on this beach. However, when children were swimming, the fishermen never had much luck.

One summer there were 2 boys who would take their raft out much farther than permitted. They ignored the lifeguards and one afternoon a very large shark circled their raft. We watched with amazement as 2 or 3 dolphins butted the shark with their snouts and drove it away.

Great story! We spent every summer in the Gulf of CA (Sea of Cortez) and we were always surrounded by dolpins when swimming in the ocean. They used to get pretty close. It was so amazing to watch them jumping in and out of the water.

Thanks for sharing that story, lcp. I have heard of many occasions when dolphins have done this to protect a human.

How exciting that must have been for you, Monica. I love to watch the dolphins when we go to Santa Cruz, California. They are so graceful yet playful and love to show off for us.
