I recently picked up a can of Hunt's tomato sauce at the grocery store because the label said "100 percent natural." As a food allergy sufferer, I am looking for products that contain 100 percent of a particular food without additives.

I've learned to scrutinize labels carefully because of my allergy and candida issues. Imagine my surprise when I read the ingredients: tomato puree, water, citric acid and natural flavoring (a catch-all phrase for who knows what). The lesson here is the term "natural" is pretty much meaningless. You still need to read labels if you have food allergies.
