If you're allergies are still bothering after pollen season ends, you may be allergic to mold which is a year-round allergy. I have mold allergy and it always get worse when the colder, wetter climate comes around during fall and winter. I haven't come across that but I can see where it could be a problem, depending on how the wheat was grown or stored. We just lost our entire hay crop because of rain that caused mold. We're destroying the hay away because of the mold. If mold can grown on hay, it can easily grown on wheat.

I've just discovered that I'm allergic to mold too. Thanks for sharing the article Sheree-Allergies. But, the suggestion to invest in a steam cleaner doesn't make sense (to me)since mold needs moisture to grow steam cleaning would surface clean while providing moisture that mold needs.

That's a good point. I have friend who lives in Seattle where they get a lot of mold. She uses a steam cleaner and finds it very effective. I'm wondering if the super hot temperature prevents the mold from continuing to grow. I will check on that because I was thinking of investing in a steam clearner.

It's the temperature of the steam that kills the mould and a steam cleaner puts out steam so hot it's almost invisible so there is usually little residue and the mould is already dead. In some cases you may get condensation, but having flash-boiled the mycilium that shouldn't be a problem

Thanks for sharing this information. I'm thinking the steam cleaner would make a pretty nice present to myself. Now I just need to save the money.
