I think I am settling in well going back to school online. My last grade on the discussion board was a 99% and his first comment was on how well my comments were. He did ask that I "pull the thread" a little more. Does he mean get deeper?

I am feeling more confident that I'm getting the hang of it. Also, learning how to write for research papers versus the web is becoming easier for me.

Yay for you! I bet you're doing fantastic smile

"Pull the thread?" Last time I did that I unraveled a sweater LOL. I think I'd ask him what he means, that is not an appropriate response to you if you do not understand him (Let me know who he is so I can avoid him LOL).

I agree with Sara - worth checking. He could mean provide clear summaries that bring in previous points and then develop these to support your argument...

Congratulations on getting such an excellent grade Rebecca.

I'm feeling better. Though a little overwhelmed with two papers due within the week.

Sara, I was a little leery of him at first, but so far like him. I have one for historical research that the verdict is still out on. The first set of instructions for the discussion boards were confusing and his comments on the few he has commented on seem a little out of place. We'll see.

Sorry Rebecca but I can't help either with "pull the thread". I'm with Sara - it's something I do when I catch my pants on something. Hope you ask him what he means and let us know.

He came back to me on one of the discussion boards and wants me to explain the differences, if any, between philosophy and religion and how it influenced the early Christian church. How am I going to answer that in just two days?????

Wow!!!!!! He replied fast. I asked him if it meant go deeper. Here is his response:

Rebecca, Exactly. It is an old expression, I have used for years, which is probably why I am an "Ancient" history teacher:) If you "pull on a thread" you start exploring much more of the
"fabric" than if you just took the "thread" at face value, to continue the metaphor.

LOL - well now I'm having an issue with another professor. I thought at first he was just new. He's been there over 10 years. First, he put my grade in wrong. I know have an average of 1566%. He made a comment that I should submit something extra for additional credit and then acted as though he knew nothing about what I sent it to him. Now he claims that he cannot find my discussion board posts though he graded them and commented on how well I did on them. I'm getting really frustrated.
