I'm not against a feel good or distraction, like a break but when reality is deteriorating it's time to pull the plug and start from scratch.

My opinion is, bring back priveleges once they've been earned. Unless this person is paying rent and utilities, they might as well see it as a digital credit card with no limit. It's always there, that "feel good" and in real life, that simply isn't real.

You need real to get a job to pay for those "feel goods."

Sounds like a lecture but what's going to break through is having a need that surpasses the instant feel good and the only thing I can think of is earning something that a person wants to "feel good" - like a vacation.
